The Research Training Group program in Applied Algebra accepts applications on a rolling basis. We offer positions at the postdoctoral, graduate and undergraduate level. Applicants to all positions need to be either U.S. citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents (i.e. green card holders). The additional required qualifications at each level are: 

  • Postdoctoral: a PhD in mathematics, computer science, or a related field. 
  • Graduate students: a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, or evidence of completion of coursework in algebra, analysis and topology.
  • Undergraduate: current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree with a focus on mathematics, theoretical computer science or a related field.  

Interest Form

The first step to applying to the RTG in Applied Algebra is to complete the interest form below. It will ask you the level at which you wish to apply (postdoctoral, graduate, or undergraduate). You will be asked to confirm your eligibility, and to give us an email so that we can contact you with information about the formal application procedure.
